Accessibility

Museum De Proefkolonie is for everyone. We endorse and follow the Diversity and Inclusion Code of the Museum Association. This code of conduct has been drawn up for and by the Dutch cultural and creative sector. The code is self-regulating, with the aim of representing the broad diversity of Dutch society in the sector.

Our museum is accessible and attractive to everyone, where everyone is valued and respected and feels heard and at home.

Less agile?
Museum de Proefkolonie is easily accessible for people with reduced mobility or who use a wheelchair, scooter or walker. The entire museum is located on the ground floor and has no thresholds, stairs or lifts. People with rollators and wheelchairs have sufficient space in the museum to move freely. The museum has a wheelchair accessible toilet.

The parking lot at Museum de Proefkolonie is spacious and can allow coaches and taxis to stop close to the main entrance. In addition, the museum has two parking spaces for people with disabilities. The distance between the parking lot and the main entrance is only a few meters.

There are plenty of seats in the public areas for people with walking difficulties. The minimum width of the passages is approx. 110 cm.

There are several hiking trails in the area. Many of the trails on these routes are paved and wheelchair accessible. But there are also pieces of gravel and sand path. Ask the counter about the possibilities. Our employees are happy to assist you.

Do you prefer cycling? That too is possible. The bicycle transferium is located directly next to the museum (approx. 160 m on a paved path). Here are different types of adapted and assisted bicycles for rent. Check www.fietstransferium.com for the possibilities.
